Library survives/Biblioteca salvada

Xavier Panadès, the "Supertramp of Palau" has been principal in the fight to the closure of Marksbury Road library in the neighbourhood of Bedminster.

The library is the only cultural centre in the neighbourhood where for example children of the nearby school Parsons can consult books. Moreover, the library building constructed in year 1939 has historical importance.

In fact the following step is to list the building under English Heritage, to guarantee that the library or a cultural centre will not disappear in this area without socio-cultural equipment.

Giving support to MACA (Marksbury Area Community Association), in his speech highlighted that "children and girls without books are future ignorant adults"
